Right to Smile Foundation is looking for a Lead Artist to be part of our upcoming project ‘Portraits of a Community’.

Project: Portraits of a Community

Project timeline:  March till October 2021.


Project Summary: By using art as a medium for discussion about cultural heritage, identity, diversity and community, this project seeks to create four murals within four localities around Malta . The project is aimed at youths aged 11-15, who will be the creators of these murals.

The youths will be mentored by a team of artistic volunteers led by a lead artist. The content of the murals will be decided together with our artist, volunteer artists and participants. There will be preparation weekends for discussion, an implementation weekend for the painting of the mural and an evaluation session about the process with all participants in each locality. We will hold a celebration activity for all participants to view all murals. 


The Role: The Lead Artist will work within a team to mentor and lead the youths in the creation of the murals. The Applicant should be self-motivated and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, be able to organise and prioritise tasks within the project timeline.
