Youth Group Corner – Santa Lucija (February 2022)

Despite the extremely cold weather we experienced in February, we did not let that stop us and soldiered on. Admittedly, having our own premises to meet up and not having to endure the cold outside, is a major boost to all of us who have been part of this project throughout the years. There’s just something about decorating the walls in vibrant colours, throwing in some bean bags and sofas and getting a kettle in which makes the place feel way cosier and homier.

Our first activity for February was in the hands of the sports team, and what better way to keep warm than some indoor exercise 💪🏼. No equipment? No Problem! Check out how our mentors and youth got creative with whatever we had available to get the blood pumping.

Malta experiencing its wettest winter in decades the past few months, got us thinking;
How to best make use of this rainfall 🌧? Nothing seemed more appropriate to get some plant trimmings, personalize our pots and have our take on making the place a little greener 🌱…and we got to say, we’re impressed with the results

To wrap up the month, the Health & Capacity team sat down with the youth and let them come up with various topics they would like to tackle and discuss throughout the year such as online relationships, life transitions, dealing with stress from school and building connections and relationships.

It just goes to show, how much we need to engage with today’s youth to better understand the reality all of us are living in.
